Meet Dr. Chris Aherne, DPT at Iron Physical Therapy

Dr. Aherne went to SUNY Brockport (where he played soccer) and then earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from George Washington University. He has received advanced training in strength and conditioning, concussion/vestibular issues and completed a Titleist certification in treating golfers

From playing golf himself to coaching soccer and hitting the gym, this athlete and skilled clinician is passionate about keeping himself and others active.

Why did you decide to go into physical therapy?

My passion for PT grew following recurring injuries while playing soccer and never finding a solution. I realized that so many athletes were dealing with similar issues and became motivated by how impactful PTs are on recovery!

What do you like most about being a physical therapist? 

Being challenged every day with new injuries and movement deficiencies that force us to think on our feet and always adapt to each patient’s specific needs

What’s your favorite way to stay active? 

Playing golf, coaching soccer, gym workouts

What’s one thing on your bucket list?

Travel Europe (Greece, Italy, Spain)
