Why did you decide to go into physical therapy?

When I was in HS, I was playing in a volleyball tournament and I sprained my ankle very badly. My doctor suggested I go to physical therapy and that was my first exposure to the profession. I loved the time I spent in PT and how quickly I was able to return to playing. This experience really got me looking into becoming a PT…and low and behold my pursuit continued into me becoming Dr. Payne! 👩🏼‍⚕️😊

What do you like most about being a physical therapist?

Being a DPT has been very rewarding and my most favorite part about my job is the relationships that are created. Connecting with people, guiding them in their discovery of their bodies' abilities, and showing people that our bodies are made to heal are my favorite parts of my job.

How would friends describe you?

My friends would describe me as "energy" - Not even energetic, just energy. ⚡️⚡️ But also as a caregiver/mom.❤️

What’s your favorite way to stay active?

I am a weightlifter 🏋🏼‍♀️ so exercise with a barbell is definitely my activity of choice; however, I also like to be outside, preferably on the water. Paddleboarding, boating, and floating are all on the favorites lists of things to do.

Tell us…Do you have a hidden talent?

I guess a not-so-hidden talent of mine is singing (not so hidden because I'm never not singing)!! I also like to coach both weightlifting and volleyball…the hobby part of that is figuring out how to be the best coach I can be!

What was your first job?

My first job was cold-calling for summer camp promotions for a sports complex near where I grew up. The position then transformed into eventually being their head volleyball coach for all their camps! 🏐

How do you recharge?

Honestly, I am not the best at this. One thing that I do reserve time for is a monthly massage with my massage therapist. Whenever I have an open bit of time on my weekly schedule, I like to sit quietly outside or inside without much of anything going on - No phone, TV, or computer. I also like to have dinner with my parents at least twice every month just me and them. They are truly the anchor of my support system and being with them is therapeutic for me! ⚓️

Mountain cabin, beach house or big city condo?

Mountain Cabin only if there's a lake involved, if not Beach house please 🏝

At which store would you like to max-out your credit card?

WOAH! This makes my brain hurt - Too many to name! Probably online at ROGUE💪 Fitness equipment is not cheap!
